The Cincinnati Review invites those passionate about theory and practice of the short story to present papers and break-out sessions at University of Cincinnati during the Ohio Festival of the Short Story May 7-8, 2010.

Readings and a public interview will feature Lee K. Abbott (pictured left), Nancy Zafris, Margaret Luongo, and Donald Ray Pollock.

New York
Attention journalists and essayists: The Richard J. Margolis Award of Blue Mountain Center combines a one-month residency at Blue Mountain Center with a $5,000 prize. It is awarded annually to a promising new journalist or essayist whose work combines warmth, humor, wisdom, and concern with social justice. The Blue Mountain Center is located near Blue Mountain Lake in Northern New York State. Deadline: July, 7, 2010.
