Unleash Your Fiction (Austin)8 Wednesdays, 6:30 to 9 p.m., at the AGE Building, 3710 Cedar Street. Begins June 13, 2012. Mystery and manners, Flannery O'Connor called it. Stories should have a mix of both--that is, they should delve into the habits of mind of ordinary people (manners) and ask big questions (that'd be mystery). We think a fiction-writing class should help you examine these two very different concepts--first by discovering how they are working in published fiction, then by exploring your own material. With plenty of generative exercises, guided reading, and workshop time. The purpose of this course is to explore the craft of fiction writing and to provide a supportive environment in order to help students become more confident in their ability to bring stories to the page. Taught by American Short Fiction staff and working writers. Course CostThe cost of this course is $350. How to Apply No need to apply, just sign up! Registration is open. Click HERE to sign up.
